Come Back for Me: Book One
Come Back for Me is the first book in this series and will captivate you from the very beginning. It does feature some pretty tough topics such as physical abuse. My heart complete broke reading some of these scenes but Connor helped mend my heart with the way he respected and treated Ellie and her daughter, Hadley.
Connor is officially off duty from the Navy, due to an injury. And now he and his brothers need to figure out what to do with the farm now that their father has passed. None of the boys wants anything to do with the farm or their father and are determined to sell the farm and move on with their lives. But their father has other plans for them. In his will he requires that in order to sell the farm each son has to live on the farm for 6 months each. So the boys do the only thing they can, live on the farm, fix it up and get it ready for sale. The first to live there is Connor. What he doesn't realize is that the one girl that got away actually lives on the farm next door. The sparks are still there but nothing can happen because she has a family of her own already and Connor needs to learn to move on from his dream.
Ellie is hiding all her emotions and scars and with each day gets stronger and stronger to leave her abusive husband. All it took was one day for him to flip and say some things to her that make her finally decide to leave. With the help of Connor Ellie is able to move on and show her daughter how life should be lived; how to be strong.
There is a little twist.. actually a beautiful surprise in this all but I'll leave that for your to discover on your own. LOVED every page of this book. Yes, the premise of the book is hard to read about, but it was beautifully written. I am having a hard time putting my words together for this one, but it really was an amazing read and hooked me in from the very first page. I felt that Ellie and Connor were perfect for one another. I also loved the interactions between Connor and Hadley. This was my first book that I've read by Corinne Michaels and I am dying to read the rest of the series.
Fight for Me - Book Two
These brothers are a dream and if there is a guy out in this world like these men you better grab them and never let go.
Sydney and Declan are perfect for one another. They were childhood sweethearts, who saw their future together. They lived through so much together that when Declan left after the accident it broken Sydney. This decision wasn't the easiest thing for Declan to have to make. He loved her with his whole being. But if leaving her behind meant keeping her safe and away from his troubles than that is what he'd do.
It's Declan's turn to return to the farm and after seeing Sydney he can't help but feel nothing but love for her. He wants her back in his life, but he doesn't have any intentions on staying in Sugarloaf. The thing Sydeny struggles with is whether or not she should give into her feelings for Declan. She is afraid he'll break her heart all over again if he decides to leave her again.
I loved every minute of this book. My emotions were everywhere with Sydney and Declan's story. Declan, oh Declan. He has been through so much since his mother passed, but he had Sydney to help him through the tough times. But after making the hardest decision of his life he doesn't feel that he deserves what he always wanted... a family with his one true love. Sydney struggles with giving Declan her heart again, fearing that he will stomp on it again and leave her like he did before. These two have a past that is so strong, but their future is so much stronger.
The One for Me - Book Three
Sean and Devney are childhood friends and nothing more... at least that is what they'd like to believe. The feelings they have for one another are nothing more than friendship, but deep down they know the truth. After Devney and her boyfriend breakup Sean finds the courage to give into his feelings and try and pursue Devney. Devney is hiding a huge secret from her past, one that even her best friend, Sean, has been left in the dark from. But it all comes out after Devney's brother and sister-in-law pass away from a car accident. Sean may be hurt that he was left in the dark, but his feelings for her are so deep that he is able to eventually look past it.
Sean and Devney are what love stroes... friends to lovers are made for. These two stole my heart. I love the relationship these two had and how their feelngs for one another only solidified their bond even more. They are both amazing characters and I am so happy they got their happily ever after.
