K.A Tucker is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is flawless and stories are absolutely beautifully written. This goes without saying that her latest book The Player Next Door did not disappoint. I really loved it. This is a second chance, slow burn love story between old summer time sweethearts. Shane Beckett may have a player past, but he's changed and when he hears that his old summer flame is moving back to town he becomes eager to see if he can win her heart back. Scarlett moves back to Polson Falls for a new teaching position at her old elementary school and never expected that her new next door neighbor would be the guy that broke her heart 13 years ago.Â
As much as I want to hate Shane for breaking Scarlett's heart in the past, I can't help but love him. He is the perfect guy in so many ways. The chemistry between these two is so strong you can't help but root for these two when they finally cave into their feelings. I love the storyline and the wonderful characters in this story. It was easy to connect and relate to the characters and their emotions. The end of the book left me feeling so giddy and hoping that we hear more about Shane and Scarlett in the future.
I would love for this to turn into a series and for us to get a glimpse into what happens with Scarlett and Shane, as well as possibly Justine (Scarlett's best friend).
