Of Mist & Murder - Book Five
I have tried to be so patient when it came to the release of book five in the Daughters of Eville series and it was so worth the wait. Chanda Hahn does an outstanding job with this book. I was left with one of THE worst book hangovers ever. Maeve is such an amazing and strong character. She underestimates her and her abilities. She learns who she truly is in this story. Aspen, Rosalie's brother, is in this story once again and he has redeemed himself. Both Aspen and Maeve do a lot of growing in this story and they both learn how to be happy with who they really are. The ending almost got me really good, thinking someone was going to be gone. I had accepted their death and thought that if she had left it that way, it would be an ending for the books. But Chanda went and made things right for everyone.
I am super excited about what is going to come next.
Of Thorn & Thread - Book 4
I am at a loss for words. This book was outstanding and has left me with a huge book hangover. Aura is an amazing character and has grown up so much in her story. Because of that she seems to outshine her sisters. There are many twists and turns throughout the story that definitely leave you wanting to read one more chapter. I love the author's take on the story of sleeping beauty. I have never been a big Sleeping Beauty fan, but after this story I think she is my new favorite. Aura is an empath and we learn how much of a struggle it is to be one. Liam is such a great secondary character and we learn so much about him and his connection to Aura. I am already looking to do a reread just to go through it all over again.
Of Sea & Song - Book Three
Outstanding. Magnificent. Spectacular. Brilliant. I absolutely loved Meri's story and wish it could go on forever. I am not sure how Chanda Hahn does it, but each book is better than the last. I felt like I couldn't read this book fast enough. It was so easy to get lost in this world and wish I could escape here more often. I think Chanda Hahn is such a talented and remarkable author. Her writing style is one of my favorites, she has an innate ability to create a story that is easy to follow. Her descriptions help me paint a picture in my head of a breathtaking world and amazing characters. I liked how Chanda took a different approach on how Meri left Nihill, compared to the previous two books. I thoroughly enjoyed the many twists throughout the story, as they kept me glued to the book.
In this book we follow Meri, who runs away to protect her sisters after an unfortunate incident. Word starts to spread of her being on the run and wanted by the Brunes Guild. Brennon helps Meri escape from the wrath of the Brunes Guild. However, she isn't sure if she can trust him and escapes before he notices. But what she doesn't realize is that her path with Brennon will eventually cross again. In this story, we learn about Meri, her magical abilities, and her ties to the sea. There were times in the book, especially towards the end where my heart broke for both her and Brennon. I loved the ending and wish it could go on forever.
Of Glass & Glamour - Book Two
When it comes to this series, I have a feeling that each book is going to out do the previous one. This is the second book in the Daughters of Eville series and is just as amazing as the first book. It follows Eden and the revenge she needs to take on the Kingdom of Candor, her goal is to "get the shoes, get the guy, and get revenge." I love Eden, she is so much stronger than she thinks she is. I loved Dorian from the beginning and couldn't wait to see what his role was in the story. There were many twists throughout the story and was hard to put down. I am looking forward to reading more books from this series.
Of Beast & Beauty - Book One
If you enjoy retellings you will love this series. Chanda Hahn's take on these fairytales is out of this world and way better than the original version ... in my opinion. I was absolutely absorbed in this book and found it hard to put down. Chanda Hahn does an outstanding job creating characters that are so dimensional and a storyline that is easy to follow.
