DAUGHTERS OF EVILLE
BY CHANDA HAHN
BY CHANDA HAHN
If you enjoy fairytale retellings, you will absolutely love this series. Chanda Hahn’s take on classic fairytales is imaginative, immersive, and—dare I say—better than the originals (in my opinion). I was completely absorbed in this book and found it nearly impossible to put down. Chanda Hahn does an outstanding job creating richly layered characters and a storyline that’s easy to follow while still being incredibly engaging.
Lady Eville was wronged by seven kings from different kingdoms and now seeks vengeance against them all. Rosalie is one of Lady Eville’s seven adopted daughters, each trained and raised with a purpose. Every daughter will play a role, one way or another, in the eventual downfall of the kingdoms.
When the Kingdom of Baist announces that Prince Xander must marry, Lady Eville sends Rosalie to Baist with a clear mission: win the prince’s heart. What follows is a captivating story filled with intrigue, strategy, and unexpected emotion.
This book is a fantastic start to the series and a must-read for anyone who loves darker fairytale retellings with depth, strong characters, and a fresh twist on familiar stories.
With this series, I have a feeling that each book is going to outdo the one before it. This second installment in the Daughters of Eville series is just as amazing as the first.
The story follows Eden and her mission for revenge against the Kingdom of Candor. Her goal is simple: get the shoes, get the guy, and get revenge. Eden is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for, and I loved watching her grow into that strength. From the moment Dorian appeared on the page, I was hooked—I couldn’t wait to see what role he would play in the story.
This book is filled with twists and turns that made it hard to put down. The pacing, characters, and plot all work beautifully together, making this another standout addition to the series. I’m already looking forward to reading more from the Daughters of Eville world.
Outstanding. Magnificent. Spectacular. Brilliant. I absolutely loved Meri’s story and wish it could go on forever. Somehow, Chanda Hahn keeps topping herself with each book, and this one is no exception. I found myself unable to read fast enough—it was so easy to get lost in this world and wish I could escape there more often. Chanda Hahn is an incredibly talented author. Her writing style is one of my favorites, with an innate ability to create stories that are easy to follow. Her descriptions paint breathtaking worlds and unforgettable characters right in your mind.
In this installment, we follow Meri as she runs away to protect her sisters after an unfortunate incident. Word spreads that she’s on the run and wanted by the Brunes Guild. Brennon helps Meri escape, but she isn’t sure she can trust him and slips away before he realizes. Little does she know that their paths are destined to cross again.
Throughout the story, we learn more about Meri, her magical abilities, and her ties to the sea. There are moments, especially toward the end, that truly broke my heart for both Meri and Brennon. The twists kept me glued to the pages, and the ending left me completely satisfied—though I wish the story could continue forever.
I am at a loss for words—this book is outstanding and left me with a serious book hangover. Aura is an incredible character who has grown so much throughout her story, and at times she even outshines her sisters.
The plot is packed with twists and turns that make it nearly impossible to stop reading. I loved the author’s take on the story of Sleeping Beauty. I’ve never been a huge fan of that fairy tale, but after this book, it might just be my new favorite.
Aura is an empath, and the story does a wonderful job showing how challenging that can be. Liam is a fantastic secondary character, and we learn so much about him and his connection to Aura throughout the book.
I tried so hard to be patient waiting for the release of book five in the Daughters of Eville series—and it was absolutely worth the wait. Chanda Hahn does an outstanding job with this installment, leaving me with one of the worst book hangovers I’ve ever had.
Maeve is such a powerful and compelling character. She constantly underestimates herself and her abilities, but throughout this story she truly comes into her own and learns who she is meant to be. Aspen—Rosalie’s brother—returns once again, and I loved seeing his redemption arc continue. Both Aspen and Maeve experience so much growth in this book, learning to accept themselves and find happiness in who they truly are.
The ending nearly broke me. I genuinely believed someone was going to be gone, and I had already accepted their death as a possible ending to the series. But Chanda had other plans and managed to make things right in the most satisfying way.
This book was emotional, powerful, and completely worth the wait.
This book delivers a wonderful message about having confidence in yourself and recognizing what you’re truly capable of. Don’t let the opinions of others hold you back.
Rhea is a strong and determined sorceress, committed to saving the Kingdom of Kiln. Along the way, she’s joined by a very funny Rumple Stiltskin, whose presence is perfect. I loved how he added humor at just the right moments, balancing the story beautifully.
Outstanding. Phenomenal. Amazing. I want more—so much more. Of Secrets and Slippers is an incredibly addictive story that was nearly impossible to put down.
Chanda Hahn did a wonderful job tying this series together and delivering an ending that was both satisfying and memorable. This book is the perfect conclusion to a captivating series.
